True to its name, Barrier Beach Cottage is just steps away from the stunning 6km stretch of white sand that is Kaitoke Beach. Located on the island’s eastern coast, the beach is known for its sweeping dunes, excellent surf breaks and rich biodiversity, including endangered species such as brown teal and dotterel. For most of the year, the beach remains wonderfully uncrowded, offering peace, space, and natural beauty.

The cottage is fully self-contained and features two bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to four quests. One bedroom has a queen bed, while the second offers two single beds, making it ideal for couples or friends. Linen is provided and guests can enjoy outdoor furniture and a BBQ for relaxed island living. The cottage is powered by solar energy, with water supplied via rainwater tanks.

Conveniently located on Oceanview Rd in Kaitoke, Barrier Beach Cottage is just minutes from Claris Airfield and Claris Centre where you will find a general store, petrol station, bottle shop and My Fat Puku Café. Even closer are local favourites such as the Barrier Burger Shack and Mama Wenz Ice Creams. The golf course, museums, art gallery and a range of short and longer bush walks are all nearby.
