Daily Flights To Great Barrier Island |

'Fly My Sky’ and ‘Great Barrier Airlines’ run scheduled daily flights to Great Barrier Island from Auckland Domestic Terminal and the North Shore Air Field. The flight takes around 30 minutes and passengers can disembark at Claris Airfield near the center of the island, or weather permitting, at the Okiwi Airstrip in the north.
The planes are small but comfortable and the scenic flight is all part of the Barrier experience. |

Getting To Great Barrier Island By Sea |
Passenger & Car Ferry Sailings to Great Barrier Island |

SeaLink's ferry the Island Navigator carries cars, passengers and freight to the island. The ferry departs from Wynyard Wharf opposite Auckland's Fish Market three times a week in winter and daily in summer. Sailings take approximately 4 1/2 hours to get to Tryphena, the southernmost port of Great Barrier Island. The time passes quickly as there is plenty to see in the way of stunning scenery, birdlife and marine life (whales, orca and dolphins are often sighted). There are also two reading rooms, a cafe/bar and two theatres where current movies are shown.

Family Passes require all members of the family to travel together in both directions. Any split in the party's travel will require the payment of full return fares for every family member.
Luggage: 2 Pieces per person. Extra items $6.50 each. Surfboards and bikes can be included in
free luggage. Kayaks $40 return, $20 one way. Dogs $20 return, $15 one way.
