She departs six days a week in summer and three days a week in winter. The vessel sports an onboard café, two lounges and two movie theatres. Keep a look-out for dolphins and whales as you journey across the Hauraki Gulf to Great Barrier Island 4.5 hours away.

You'll be met at Tryphena Wharf by your transfer driver and delivered to your accommodation.

The rest of the day you are free to explore the nearby beaches or just settle in.

McManaway Cottage is a 200 metre walk from Pah Beach, the Wild Rose Cafe and the Stonewall Store complex.Closer still is the Currach Irish Pub where the atmosphere is warm, the food hot and the beer cold.

Day Two: After breakfast this morning you’ll be picked up by your personal guide. Setting off to explore the island, we’ll head north through Claris and enjoy great east coast views of Medlands Beach and Kaitoke beach. We'll take a look at the local museum and Okupu Bay before heading over to Whangaparapara and the Great Barrier Lodge for an early lunch.

We continue north enjoying the stunning views of Palmers beach and we'll stretch the legs along Awana beach and estuary. Then it’s off to climb the 100 steps that lead to the spectacular Windy Canyon.

We’ll continue on through Okiwi to the ever-beautiful Port FitzRoy harbour for an icecream and optional waterfall walk before heading back down the island to your accommodation.

Day Three: Today is all yours. Take your hire car and go exploring. Check out the Shoal Bay Pottery, visit Peter Edmonds at his wood turning/carving gallery and take a look at the local art gallery in Claris. Take a walk to the Mermaid Pool, the natural Hot Springs or just relax on the beach.

Leave your car at the airport when you check in at 4.30 for your 5.00 pm departure to Auckland Airports domestic terminal.

The flight takes around 30 minutes and the scenery will amaze you.
